ATP IN CHINA: Seven Years Of Steady Operations.

The ATP Processor operating in Fushun, China recently surpassed 60,000 hours operation. Since entering steady operation in 2015, the oil shale processing plant has routinely exceeded 88% availability and processed more than 8.6 million tonnes of oil shale.

The plant has been operated and maintained by the Chinese owner Fushun Mining Group with a small on-site support team from thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions.

Several ‘firsts’ were proven out in the supply and operation of the equipment. The proprietary multi-function kiln was designed in Canada and Germany and manufactured at multiple global sites, prior to installation in China. Novel field construction techniques were required to allow transport of the 8m diameter kiln to site in pieces. A new, dry flow sheet for flue gas clean up and heat recovery was adopted after learnings from the Australia demonstration plant.
